More Candy and Creations!

Since changing my subscriber service to FeedBurner, I can view the number of people subscribing to my blog updates. I'm sure some viewers were dropped thru the transition and I would like to boost the number of subscribers to 75. You can help me achieve my goal, by spreading the word to your friends, if you have enjoyed this blog. Also, once I get to the 75 mark, I will be giving away more BLOG CANDY! Hmmm, what will it be this time? To be eligible, you need to do two things-subscribe to my blog and tell me things you would like to see/learn on this site. Tutorials, more links, more scrapbook pages/cards? I appreciate your feedback. Now, if you refer someone to this site and they subscribe, please tell them to leave a note with their comments and you'll receive an extra chance for the BLOG CANDY! So, let's get the ball rolling to 75 subscribers!

On Friday, I attended a class at my local Archiver's to make a Paper Crafted Purse. The benefits of taking an occasional class is that I get to learn new techniques, use new toys/tools and see the new products on the market. For this class, we used the Creative Imaginations Bare Elements Purse and covered it with papers from the Basic Grey lines, Perhaps and Phoebe. On the front of the purse, we heat embossed the swirls design, from the Autumn Leaves stamp set, Swirls Volume 1. If you look closely under the floral design, you can see the new Stampendous floral design, Ruffled Bloom, stamped with Making Memories acrylic blue paint (Daiquiri) on an acetate sheet. We trimmed around the image and added coordinating flowers cut from the Ellison Design die, Build A Flower #1 by Scrappy Cat. A clear button and pink rhinestones (by Mark Richards) were added. On the purse flap, we added bling by using Sepia Accents (by Ranger) and more pink rhinestones. The tag was made using the Making Memories Tag Maker and the initial was cut with the QuicKutz Revolution Blossom Alphabet. More die cut flowers and rhinestones completed the tag. The Crop-A-Dile was used to punch the 2 front holes in the purse flap and May Arts ribbons were added to it and the tag. We finished the purse by adding Making Memories Chocolate brown paint to the exposed areas and stamped more floral blooms to the top of the flap. And, of course, I couldn't leave the store before purchasing the swirls stamps and the floral die cuts. I'll be taking the second part of the class in a few weeks, with my PIC (partner-in-crime), Cindy, to make a Bling-Ring Book that fits inside the purse. So, stay tuned.

Alot of exciting new over the weekend. Gina K. has designed a stamp set to aid Autism Awareness. It's an adorable set and $8 from each purchase goes toward autism research, so be sure to check out her site. Nichole has released another stamp set from PaperTrey Ink and it is very unique and spring-like. Cindy K. is selling craft racks to store ribbon, wheels and ink pads, if you need help with organization. These would make great gifts for your crafty friends. And, today is Beate's birthday, so be sure to post wishes on her blog.

I think I subscribed but I never remember since I have my RSS check for me! Ah nope, I had to re-subscribe...there is my answer. I like to see cards featuring special folds or patterned paper (since if I see somebody else's great creation with it...I must go buy it...I am easily enabled!)...cheers!

What I like best about your blog are the cards and instructions. That's what I'm trying to learn how to do, so you already have everything on your blog that I need :)
