Another card inspired by ribbon colors

As previously mentioned a few weeks ago, I was playing with color combinations by using colors in selected ribbons. This Mays Art ribbon has several shades of pinks and greens in it, so I reached for another of my favorite stamps, a Thomas Kinkade design, by Cornish Heritage Farms , called The Garden of Prayer. Can justice be done to these beautiful images? I still feel most comfortable using a monochromatic design with these intricate designs. On this card, I use the spotlighting technique, by punching out the area I wanted to highlight and mounting it onto the main image. I used SU! Always Artichoke ink for my card base and ink color. A layer of Mellow Moss Cardstock was placed behind the spotlighted image and main image. I added a little shimmer color of pink to the spotlighted area with the Pebbles chalks and tied the ribbon to the left side of the card. Inside, I stamped The Serenity Prayer, which is another stamp in the Thomas Kinkade series.

One last day before the BLOG CANDY is given away. Leave me a comment describing your favorite Christmas tradition and you'll be eligible for the candy. If you link my blog to your blog, you'll have 5 additional chances to win, but I'll need to know the name of your blog.

Thanks for visiting!
