BLOG CANDY!!

I'm overdue on offering free BLOG CANDY! The holidays are making the days pass quickly, so please forgive my delay. This candy is a new copy of "Card Creations", which I use over and over. It includes samples and sketches of cards for all occasions. It will be helpful when making your holiday cards. The way to be included in the drawing is to leave me a comment telling me about your favorite family holiday tradition. I'm going to need some ideas to start a new year, so I want to hear your feedback. Post a comment and description of your favorite family holiday tradition and I'll add your name to the drawing. And, if you link to my blog, you'll get 5 extra chances to win the drawing. You have to let me know in the comments that you linked to my blog. I'll leave this open for one week and draw a lucky name on Sunday, December 2. Let the posting begin!

Thanks-
Leslie

This is a magazine I've never seen before. Of course, I won't win as I'm #1 and #1 hardly ever gets chosen, but I'll give it a shot anyway!

I added it to My Blog
too... at least a few more ways to try to win!

Love your blog, Leslie!

Oh, pick me, please! I can't find that magazine anywhere here and I *need* it!! I added it to my blog, too.

What a beautiful site! Thank you for sharing! I do not have a blog, but love checking out them all out.

I love your blog. Thanks for sharing all your creations. AS for traditions--one we have is fairly new. My boys are definitely teens and don't do the cuddle thing on Christmas EVE, so every year I buy a couple of Christmas movies--new ones, old ones,--and we sit and laugh and enjoy the movies together. It's our way of spending some family time, doing something that all of us can enjoy. This year we're going to do that with our big extended family--all 15 of us--and it's a tradition that can work with all ages too!

Boy, do I ever need this mag. Thanks for the chance to get it!! Our family tradition started with my grandfather, who always made us his oyster stew on Christmas eve. It was the best ever served with the little oyster crackers. Now we make his recipe and fondly remember Grandpa and his oyster stew while we enjoy ours (which dosn't taste nearly as good).

Thanks! Sorry, I don't have a blog to link, but I did forward your email feed to my friends.

As long as we have little ones that believe in Santa, one of the adults puts on the red suit and brings 1 gift to each of the kids on Christmas Eve. Our youngest are 8 and 2 so until the last one doesn't believe this is a Christmas Eve tradition.

Great win! I will be adding you to my blog as soon as I leave your site. OUr holiday traditions are simple. We have our big family meal on Christmas Eve with a traditional turkey dinner and open presents, watch sports and take a nap on Christmas Day.

Woo-hoo!

My favorite tradition is putting up the tree. My husbands really dislikes the whole season so I end up doing it alone, but that's ok! I have to keep working at it so that I get it just right anyway!

I added a link to your blog here: http://princessmsk.blogspot.com/2007/11/check-it-out.html

Many Blessings,

My favorite holiday tradition is the ornament exchange I do with my sisters. It is so much fun trying to choose just the right one for each of my four sisters.
I'll check back often...and attempt to connect you to my blog and mention your latest blog candy.

I have one of the Card Creation magazines & they are loaded with great ideas and fabulous cards so I'd LOVE to win this issue. My favorite tradition has been past down thru the generations of my Italian family. We have a recipe for an Italian cookie Scalletti that I used to help my grandmother make when I was young. Now my own daughter & granddaughter are helping my mother and myself make them every year.

You have a great blog! On Christmas Eve, I let me kids open one present before going to bed, but the catch is that I hide it and they have to find it. The present is always new Christmas pj's (so they look good for their Christmas morning pics). They have a great time doing this! I've linked your blog on mine stampin4mysanity.blogspot.com

Hi Leslie!
That looks like a great magazine! Thank you for the chance to win a copy!

My favorite holiday tradition (before all the kids grew up) was each person opening one gift before going to bed on Christmas Eve. We got to pick out which one we wanted to open...but only one. Of course, it would be from someone in the family cause Santa had not come yet :)

I don't have a blog, or I would certainly add a link to yours!

just found your blog today -love your work! thanks for giving us a chance to win a great magazine too. It's so hard to pick just one tradition as my favorite but I would have to say it is making cookies and candies with my daughters that we package up and give to the neighbors. Every year we make my yummy peanut butter fudge and we always have to make pralines as well.

My favorite tradition? I guess being at my gramma's on Christmas eve and opening presents from her and my doing a cousin gift exchange. Oh, and Christmas morning opening my stocking is my favorite thing! But, this year my baby is old enough to enjoy Christmas and I expect my traditions are changing!!

Ooooh! I love these books!! They are great! Thanks for the chance to win! My favorite holiday tradition is to go cut our tree down (Yes, I said CUT) at a Christmas tree farm... We have done it every year for I don't know how long! I keep entertaining the idea to use an artificial tree, but the real ones smell so good!

Pick me! Pick me! :) I've never seen this magazine before.
We have some pretty simple traditions. The kids and I bake sugar cookies & decorating them and we set cookies and milk out for Santa on Christmas Eve before they go to bed. We also like to sprinkle some oats outside for the reindeer.
The kids also get to open one present on Christmas Even, which is always a new pair of jammies.
Christmas morning is always at home for our immediate family. We first go for the stockings and then leisurely let the kids open their gifts. Sometimes they like to play with something before moving on. We always have cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, too.
Oh yea, I also get each of the kids a new ornament every year. Now that they're getting older, they sometimes pick it out themselves. Otherwise I pick something that has something to do with their interests that year.
Wow! I didn't realize we did so much. :)

Our family tradition that we started with our girls 18 years ago and STILL do it....We make a Birthday Cake for Jesus and sing Happy Birthday to Him after Christmas dinner! The girls (both mentally challenged, make the batter, bake and frost the cake & put decorations on it. It is a tradition they look forward to every year and ask if I bought the cake mix the beginning of December! LOL!!!

My fav family tradition we have been doing ever since I can remember! Every year, when we decorate our Christmas tree, we drink egg nog and eat butter cookies from a can. (You know, those little ones that are in different shapes in the pretty cans.) Even though my siblings and I are all grown up, we still ask mom for them each year. It's not "Christmas" without having egg nog and cookies when we decorate!!!

My favorite holiday tradition is on the afternoon/evening of Christmas day and just settling back and watching movies and relaxing.

I've added your link to my blog!

Love the magazine! I added you to my blog! Thanks! Traditions- we go to the candle light service at church and then out to a local all night restaurant/truck stop for breakfast to welcome the new day and celebrate family and the Christ child! Thanks for the opportunity!

Anonymous said...

We go to the candlelight service at our church on Christmas Eve, mostly because the whole family is a part of it! then we go home and open our presents. we Even get to sleep in on Christmas day! All the kids are mostly grown uop so the morning of Christmas is just that... a time of togetherness, instead of commercialism!

Anonymous said...

How nice of you!

No matter what, we ALWAYS manage to make Gram's sugar cookies and let the kids "decorate" them with royal icing and sugars and sprinkles and everything else. It makes SUCH a mess but we can't imagine a Christmas without a bell shaped cookie piled with three inches of green sugar or a sleigh shape with one silver dragee placed exactly in the center or a mitten cookie "piped" with blobs of icing and different colored sanding sugar on each blob. Many of the cookies get scraped by a grownup before being eaten but they are one of the most important parts of our holidays. Even in years when time was short we would stay up late making and baking the cookies so the little ones could have their fun the next day.

To all, a blessed season!

Great blog candy!
Our family tradition is Christmas Eve at my mom's. There are so many of us now and we have had to squeeze into her small house for the last few years. We live next door to my mom. This year, my husband built us a 30 X 30 building for our family gatherings with a 14 foot dining(craft)table for the adults and we have two small children's art tables for the kids. It was not quite done for Thanksgiving but we used it anyway. I can't wait to spread out our Christmas dinner this year. As a side note: www.govdeals.com is a great place to find government surplus and school furniture. It's where we got all of the children's art tables and chairs from a school in a neighboring town. They sell everything you can imagine and it's city, town, state and federal government surplus or confiscated property. I found out about them when I worked for the city and we posted police cars and confiscated things with them.

i have to say, that my favorite tradition is STILL decorating the tree. now that i have a family of my own, it's so much fun to see the progression of the height of the ornaments on the tree! i love looking at each and every ornament and remembering who/what/where/when/why. some are more poignant than others, but they all have a story and i remember each and every one! hmmm, that would make a great scrapbook!

great blog candy! It's my DMIL's tradition, but I will continue it when we start a family-making a birthday cake for Jesus & singing Happy Birthday at Christmas. She even has a plastic nativity scene that goes on the cake to commemorate His Birth.

On Thanksgiving day, our family decides on a new Advent Calendar for the Christmas to come. We all decide on the design and we each pitch in and make the calendar before December 1st. It's always fun because of the different ideas and the kids just love it. Thanks for the chance on the blog candy :)

When our children were little, my husband would read "the Night before Christmas" to them, then they would set out milk and cookies and climb into bed. Now that they are a little bit older, They prefer "The boy who didn't believe in Santa Claus" by Ogden Nash, and Santa is likely to get a drink with rum in it instead of milk.
