For the Caregivers..
This card was made for the special people that are caregivers, especially for Alzheimer's patients. Being a caregiver is a demanding job, especially for someone that might not remember your name or act their age. Daily, I see the patients that have been damaged by this disease and the families that are struggling with the process. I made this card for one of my patient's wife, who has been with him as they struggle with Alzheimer's. Carolyn King, Cammie, has recently designed a stamp set in memory of her grandmother, an Alzheimer's victim. Gina K. is selling the set, Whimsical Autumn. All proceeds from the sale of the stamp set will go to the Alzheimer's Association. And, since the sales of the sets have been great, Cammie wants to celebrate by offering a huge package of BLOG CANDY, worth over $1000. Many companies have donated items towards this great candy and many stampers are contributing their artwork. My Favorite Things, Stamping Bella, Paper Trey Ink and Gina K. Designs are just a few of the participating contributors. A few of the featured artwork donors are Beate Johns and Emily Giovanni. Be sure to make a card for a caregiver and visit Cammie's blog for more details about this worthy cause and blog candy.
The monochromatic card was made using the new Hero Arts Design Block, Butterflies. After stamping the image with Brilliance ink, I stamped the butterflies again on SU! Whisper White card stock. I cut the butterflies out, curled the wings and applied them over the previously stamped image. A Martha Stewart border punch was used for the decorative edge and a SU! corner punch was also used. I cut the ribbon slide with a Cuttlebug die and stamped the sentiment with a SU! stamp set. The ribbon and rhinestone bling came from my stash.
Thanks for visiting-
Leslie
