Happy Birthday Mom!

I decided to rejoin Blogland at the end of a busy and hot summer. The heat has put a damper on my desire to sit in my craft room and create. Don't get me wrong, as I've had lots of ideas floating in my head but finally made time to put them on paper as the annual Moore birthdays are starting up again. August and September are busy birthday months for me. So, let me share with you my latest creations.

My Mom's 71st birthday is today. I don't think she minds me sharing her age as she sure doesn't look or act it. You may have heard me mention that she is an avid and excellent quilter, so it was only fitting that her card contain a quilt theme. Cindy, Sue and I saw this stamp from "Impression Obssession" at the Rubber Stamp Expo in the Spring. I cased their idea of making the quilt and barrel look 3-D by using dimensionals. I've been on a Kraft cardstock rage, so this scene fit perfectly on it. After coloring the image with my Prism pencils, I mounted it on red cardstock and used Making Memories striped Kraft paper for a background. The sentiment came from PaperTrey Ink's Quilt stamp set. The buttons and twill were found in my stash. Knowing that I would hand deliver this card, I didn't have to worry about the size or thickness. Therefore, I made it business envelope size and enjoyed using the extra large buttons. Mom has made me plenty of quilts but this one is for her. Happy Birthday Mom. (Visit her blog and tell her yourself!)

I love my card. I may incorporate it into a wall hanging quilt. Thank you for sharing my birthday in such a special way.
